Blind Kitten And His Mom Become Friends With A Helpful Kitten And Now They Need A Home
The Sioux City Animal Adoption and Rescue introduced a cute kitty cat family to us. It included Keller, his mother, and Trixie. Keller is a cat born with no eyes, and the other kitten with Keller and Trixie is assumed to be Keller’s mom. They all are a family now, and the Sioux City Animal Adoption Rescue is trying to find a new home as the furry family’s matchmaker.
As per KCAU-TV, an animal shelter in Iowa brought in a cat who was later to be named Keller. He didn’t have eyes. The shelter also rescued another cat, which was most likely Keller’s mother. The cat was more of a seeing-eye cat for Keller though.
Cindy Rarrat, the Director of the Sioux City Animal Adoption and Rescue, said, “It was a unique situation in the respect that we impounded the blind cat first, and the blind cat had no eyeballs and was not neutered, and so we got him in, and he was very lost, very confused. Within a day or so, we ended up getting the female in which we assume is his mother.”
The shelter realized that the elderly cat has a special place in Keller’s heart because it was very tough to separate them. They are always there with each other, and the mother cat always walks beside Keller to help Keller navigate.
Sadly, after the mother feline arrived, she went through a vet check that shockingly revealed that she had many major health problems.
Cindy said, “We found out that there was something wrong with her mouth, so after she was spayed, we took her back in, and she had to have all of her teeth removed, and she had a large tumor in her sinus cavity. That has since been removed. They wanted to test it, but we felt that we just really didn’t want to know.”
The shelter introduced both the cats to Trixie. They did it to make sure that Keller had somebody with him if anything happened to his mother. Trixie is a 9-week-old kitty and also the family’s newest member, and she is pretty unique with a bold personality as well! We applaud the matchmaking qualities of the Sioux City Animal Adoption and Rescue. It is because it took Trixie no time to become an integral part of the family. It is quite literally a perfect match!
The Director also said that little Trixie is learning to help Keller. All of it gives the mother time to relax, enjoy, and watch the little ones play around.
The Sioux City Animal Rescue is also searching for a home for the cute cat family. Cindy said, “We’ve been looking for that special home, that special someone that would give these guys a chance.”
