A Kindhearted Woman Saves A Cat Abandoned In A Box
There is really no way to predict what could happen when you are out and about. A sudden stop could halt you dead in your tracks as you were going about your business. In Claremont, New Hampshire, an individual knows this from first-hand experience after rescuing an abandoned cat and her kittens on a recent rescue mission.
Aside from pure heartlessness, we’ll never know why people abandon animals. This past Wednesday, a pregnant cat was abandoned in a box beside a highway. When she came across the heartbreaking situation, the woman was simply out for her daily walk. Quickly, she sprung into action. She knew that if this mama and her babies were to survive, they needed help.
As a Good Samaritan, she rushed them to the Sullivan County Humane Society. Immediately following this, the shelter brought them to Springfield Animal Hospital to receive the urgent care they needed. A cesarean section was performed for the mama because she was severely dehydrated and had a high fever and anemia. The worst part is that two of the newborn kittens lost their lives before being rescued.
In a recent Facebook post, Sullivan County Humane Society of NH alerted its followers to the senseless act of animal abuse. While they are deep understanding of how hard it is for many right now, they want us all to know that situations like these should never occur under any circumstances:
Sugar is the name we have given the cat. Springfield Animal Hospital look after her immediately. When she was discovered, she had five kittens, two of which had already died. We found her extremely dehydrated, anemic, and extremely hot, probably due to the fleas. A c-section was required once she was stable enough to undergo another removal of three more babies.
