Cat Takes Up Mommy Duties Caring For Orphaned Newborn Kittens
We can tell that animals love and have innate instincts to care for babies, even if they’re not their own. This was certainly true for a kitten who earned the title of The Most Responsible Kitten in the World after being found looking after three newborn kittens.
Dedicated to providing care
The KC Pet Project, a rescue group in Kansas City, Missouri, shared the touching story of this six-week-old black kitten. The person who discovered them noticed the older kitten acting as a guardian to the newborns, despite their uncertain connection.
It’s unclear if they were siblings or what happened to their mother, but the older kitten took on the role with dedication.
An emotional scene
KC Pet Project was so moved by the situation that they had to share it with their followers, calling it “the cutest thing ever” on Facebook. This heartwarming scene won the admiration of many animal lovers online.
The rescue team decided to keep the strong-bonded kittens together in the same foster home until they’re ready for adoption. They believed staying together during this vulnerable time would ensure their well-being.
From bonding to family
The older kitten, now named Binx, and the newborns, Ollie, Frankie, and Ziggy, have formed a close-knit family.
According to Tori Fugate from KC Pet Project, while the newborns depend on milk for survival, Binx has been providing comfort and security.
Grateful for a new-found life
Now in foster care, all the kittens, including Binx, are healthy and happy. Fugate assured that Binx continues to look after the newborns as they grow stronger each day.
Thanks to Binx’s loving instincts, Ollie, Frankie, and Ziggy have the best start in life, and the KC Pet Project is confident they will all find loving forever homes when ready.
Binx’s selfless efforts have given these tiny kittens a chance at happy, healthy lives.
