Cat With Tape Roll Around His Neck Saved By Two Amazing People
A stray orange cat was rescued on Valentine’s Day after suffering from a terrible injury. He had a tape roll stuck around his neck, which prevented him from eating and drinking properly. He was also scared of people and tried to hide from them.
Saving the Orange Kitty
Many people had seen the cat in a Baldwin Park neighborhood in California, but no one could catch him.
That’s when Kimberly Saxelby and Chris Gattas, two animal lovers and rescue volunteers, decided to help. They found the cat and managed to trap him with their nets.
Immediate Care
The rescuers took the cat to the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Shelter, where he received urgent care. They were shocked to see how bad his condition was. The tape roll had cut into his neck, causing infection, pain, and weakness.
They removed the tape roll and cleaned and stitched his wounds. Considering the rescue day of this kitty, they also named him Valentine. Of course, he needs love.
Journey to Recovery
Valentine had a long way to go to heal, but he was strong and brave. He had daily bandage changes and treatment, and he might need more surgery.
He, however, got a lot of support and kindness from the shelter staff and the people who followed his story.
Love from Outside
Valentine’s story touched many hearts, and enough donations came in to cover his vet bills. He was doing better than expected, and he was starting to trust people.
There is no doubt that this kitty is a survivor and a fighter, and he deserves a second chance at life.
Seeking a Forever Home
Valentine will soon be ready to find a loving home, where he will be cherished and cared for.
A loving family is all Valentine needs to melt into the lovely cat he is!
