Stevie was a cat who loved hiking with her dad, Patrick. She was blind, but that didn’t stop her from enjoying nature and exploring new places. She was Patrick’s best friend and his inspiration to keep going in life.

Stevie Becomes a Member of Patrick’s Family

Patrick adopted Stevie from Cork Animal Care Society in Cork City, Ireland. The rescue group was looking for someone who could take care of a blind cat and help her live a happy life. Patrick felt a connection with Stevie and decided to adopt her. He mentioned how Stevie’s true friendship and perseverance positively affected his life.

Stevie’s Training

Patrick trained Stevie to walk on a leash and took her on many adventures. They walked on different trails and terrains, and even climbed Carrauntoohil, Ireland’s highest mountain. They did this to raise money for other animals in need, and they succeeded in raising twice their goal. Patrick and Stevie made a video to celebrate their achievement.

A True Friend

Stevie was always by Patrick’s side, even when he had children and bought a house. She was his loyal companion and his source of joy. She may not have been able to see the beauty of nature, but she could feel it in her heart. And she showed her happiness in featured social media posts.

Stevie’s Death

Sadly, Stevie passed away in 2020. Patrick posted the news on Instagram, wishing his beloved cat a goodnight. 

We are heartbroken by the loss of Stevie, but we are also grateful for the life she lived with Patrick. She was an amazing cat who taught us to never give up and to always appreciate what we have. She was a true friend and a brave explorer. Rest in peace, sweet Stevie.

A Tribute

Stevie is a cat who reminds us that we can overcome any obstacle in life.

Patrick and Stevie were best friends for years, and they did everything together. They needed each other and supported each other. Even though Stevie was blind, she helped her dad through life. 

She motivated him to keep moving forward whenever he felt down. Not only did she encourage her dad, but she also inspired us all, showing us that we can achieve anything. We should not let our challenges bring us down.
